Lauren’s Leadership Journey - Wins Business Leader of the Year
We were honoured to be featured in the latest Great Lakes Advocate publication, with a wonderful article written by Jeanene Duncan. The story celebrates our founder, Lauren, who was recently named Outstanding Business Leader of the Year at the Mid Coast Business Awards - recognition of her determination to challenge outdated workplace standards and advocate for flexible roles for both administrative professionals and executives.
In the article, Lauren shares her recent experience visiting CareerQuip in Taree, where she was surprised to learn how many students had never heard of office administration as a career path. For so many school leavers who choose not to attend university, career options often focus on other sectors - leaving the potential of a career in administration overlooked.
Lauren knows firsthand how rewarding a career in administration can be. She began in office administration with the Sydney Olympic Committee, becoming the youngest team official at just 21. From there, she built an international career as an Executive Assistant for a US-based tech company, travelling the world to manage conferences before moving into senior team management roles.
This experience has shown her that there is no shortage of capable, highly skilled talent outside of the cities. The exciting opportunity lies in tapping into this untapped regional market - connecting women with flexible administrative roles that allow them to find meaningful work while balancing other priorities in their lives.
At TWSG, we’re proud to be part of making those connections and helping businesses discover the incredible value of regional talent. You can read the full Great Lakes Advocate article [here], if you are a subscriber.
