AI Adoption is accelerating, but challenges remain
While many Australian businesses have adopted AI for automating routine tasks, the next frontier is leveraging AI for strategic decision-making. As of late 2024, 40% of Australian SMEs are adopting AI for tasks like data processing and customer support.
However, many businesses are struggling with a lack of technical talent and skills to utilise it fully, which 49% of leaders identify as the biggest barrier to AI adoption.
Strategic use of AI won’t come from tools alone, but from pairing them with capable people who know how to apply them well. (Deloitte, 2024).
